"Best practices should be a place to begin, not to end" - Dan Saffer @ Interaction '09

this is a big arrow. don't mind it, it won't hurt you.

welcome

If you've come to learn more about me, Jason Stewart, your journey is about to begin. You can use the navigation to the left (in case you didn't infer that from the giant arrow) to start your journey, but first allow me to introduce myself.

My name is Jason Stewart and I'm originally from Suttons Bay, Michigan where I graduated among 83 other students in my class. I came to the University of Michigan on a Track and Field Scholarship in 2003 from which I was honored with two Academic All-Team awards as well as an Angell Award. I graduated in 2007 with a major in Anthropology and two minors in Classical Archaeology and Science & Technology Studies (STS). Prior to graduating I was accepted into the School of Information in which I would combine my technical background and anthropological skills to pursue a degree in Human-Computer Interaction. Prior to graduating in 2009 I completed a four month internship in Amterdam, The Netherlands as a Product Marketing Manager with Belkin International and started the now self-susstaining Talking Points group which is developing a contextual information and urban orientation system for the visually impaired. While in graduate school I spoke at two academic conferences: the first was the EPICS conference at Purdue University in the summer of 2008; and the second was the 2008 Ubiquitous Computing conference in Seoul, South Korea. Currently, I am a Usability Auditor at Foresee Results where I am putting my HCI and Anthropological skills to good use.

More personally, I met my beautiful wife Brittni on Facebook in February of 2008 and we got married in Mexico in late December 2008. Our family consists of ourselves plus one pug, named Otis, who has brought nothing but joy and love into our lives.
